This mountain lake retreat is full of nature; just sit back and enjoy humming birds, butterfly, frogs, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, turkey eagles and woodpeckers. Take a walk along the original civil war trail which winds through the woods behind the cabin.

Join them, or watch fishermen along the shoreline from your private hideaway above the lake.  Go down to the spacious deck  for a day in the sun or cook-out on the lake, feed the ducks, or fish from the dock. Lake Dock in the morning You’ll have a fire pit right on the lake for roasting marshmallows.  Play a game of horseshoes and swing on the rope swing.  Two Canoes, oars & life jackets are provided for your exclusive use; bring floats or boats for more fun on the water.

Thunderstorms are even wonderful here!  Watch a downpour from the covered porch; build a fire or light the gas logs in either fireplace and listen to the rain pounding on the tin roof.

The cabin itself sleeps up to eight people.

The loft overlooking the main floor includes a bedroom suite; comfortable futon sofa; back deck overlooking the pond, woods and flower garden; shelves full of books and a cozy sitting area overlooking the main floor.

The private master suite is charmingly cozy on the main floor with a fully-equipped kitchen, living area and, bathroom with claw-foot tub and gas fireplace.

Downstairs you have a large steam room/shower room with benches (and 6 different shower heads), a bar, comfortable wrap around sofa & futon.  French doors lead out to the patio with a hanging swing overlooking the lake.

A few hidden treasures at Lost Horizon:  Enjoy a library of DVDs and books (including “Lost Horizon”).  There are family games and a guest book to share your experiences & read about the adventures of those before you.  Sunsets from the deck or down at the dock will take your breath away. Don’t forget to look up; you are likely to see Eagles flying high above the trees in the daytime, and stars are brilliant on clear nights at Lost Horizon.  Watch for turkey & deer lurking through the woods; you will soon discover their paths.  There is a Winnie The Pooh-looking honey bee tree just off the west side of the deck; hummingbirds love the feeder just out the French doors of your bedroom. You will discover a new appreciation for nature, self and solitude every day you spend on the lake at Lost Horizon, your utopia… paradise found.

What you might want to bring:  Water floats or boats, charcoal & lighter fluid, bikes, your favorite person/people, a journal & camera to record your experiences.
